Pool
James Meyers Construction Company has diligently been working on the pool as weather permits to get things up and running and if all goes well, the pool should be open for Memorial Day Weekend- on Saturday May 28, 2011. They have sandblasted the pool and painted, installed new tiles and new coping and have installed new concrete steps into the pool along with railing and new concrete decking. We have included a copy of the pool rules for your convenience. No new keys will be issued this year. If you have lost your key to the pool/ tennis court (one per household) you can pay $50.00 to have it replaced. Keys must be signed for at the Kirkpatrick Management Co., Inc. office located at 5702 Kirkpatrick Way between the hours of M-F 8:30 A.M. -4:30 P.M. (Tammy Landers) The Kirkpatrick Management Office will be closed over the Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 28-Tuesday May 31, 2011. Not having a key to the pool and tennis court is NOT an emergency.
Holidays
Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are soon upon us. We will have extra Security along the waterfront to ensure that we do not have any problems with Fireworks. Fireworks are prohibited from any common areas on Shorewalk property.
Dredging
Merrell Brothers says they are at 65% complete in what they have been contracted to do this year for the dredging. We know this is an inconvenience for all of you, but we are very anxious to get it all completed.
The Board is looking into what type of gate to install at the new gravel road and they will also be working with a committee to get ideas on some landscaping around the new gravel road installed- some this year and possibly more at a later date.
Please do not park your cars on Shorewalk drive by Building #1 as it hinders the trucks being able to enter and exit.
No parking in the grass- parking pads are available for guest and temporary resident parking.
Trash Cans
Please do not place trash out prior to 6P.M. Sunday evening and please make sure to place in secured bags or trash cans with lids and bring in your cans and store in the garage, not out in front of the unit.
For Sale Signs
Only one “For Sale”” sign in a window is allowed. During hours of an open house, a sign in front of the unit is allowed and perhaps one at the front entrance. Only during hours of open house- then they must be removed. They cannot be up a few days before the open house. “For Rent” signs are prohibited.
Pets
Please control your pet---It’s your responsibility! Shorewalk has a rule- also a Marion County Ordinance- that dogs and cats must be on a leash and picked up after when nature calls. Another rule involves tethering pets outside. Pets are not to be tethered to a rope anywhere in the community. Also, leashes that are on the dog, but left unattached to the owner are not in compliance.
Please observe these rules not because it‘s an ordinance or condo policy… but also out of consideration for your neighbors.
Some items being done this year…
We have installed helical piers at Bldg. 38, 39 and 40 at the Pointe. The foundation moved so the piers will stabilize the walls so they will not move out any further.
We will be installing some landscaping behind the building -lakeside at Bldg. #39 in order to stabilize the hillside so the dirt does not slide down the hill.
We will be removing several dead bushes and trees that did not survive from the draught late last summer/fall throughout the entire property.
Buildings scheduled for painting: #8,#9,#11,#12,#13,#14,#15,#19,#21,#23,#24Aand #26. Staining #8, #9, #23, #24A, and #26.The pool has been sandblasted, painted, new tile, new coping, new stairs and new concrete decking. The restrooms will be painted. Fence around pool to be painted.
Two buildings will have new roof and new gutters- Bldg. #30and Bldg. #38.
Residents will receive advance notice of above items.
Geist Coalition and Watershed Alliance – held a meeting at the Yacht Club on May 4, 2011. Several Board Members attended and the bottom line is that they are requesting people use phosphorus free fertilizer (ours is phosphorous free) and that people pick up after their pets as this all goes into the water and this is a reservoir and the water is used for drinking water. If these chemicals do not go into the water they have to treat the water with fewer chemicals before turning into our drinking water. Also it helps to keep down the blue-green algae and e-coli in the water. Also spoke about sediment removal.
